COURSE SRIPTION
This is specific difficult time of Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic hits the hospitality and tourism industry very hard. We will understand its impact and explore the sustainable solutions for post pandemic from strategic perspective. The course will conduct through face to face teaching, discussion and presentations.
This course is all about thinking strategically and anticipating the future. Uncertainty, economic turbulence, escalating costs, more demanding stakeholders, and increased competition define today’s business world. To compete in this hostile environment, managers must be able to effectively forecast the future and create a portfolio of competitive methods that will ensure long-term prosperity for the firm and its owners/investors. You will be expected to perform in this environment and you must be proficient at creating sustainable competitive advantage. Creating competitive advantage requires managers who are capable of identifying opportunities in the environment and exploiting them before anyone else does or in such a way that it is different and more effective than other industry players.
The ultimate goal is to encourage the student to think creatively in order to find innovative solutions that will reshape hospitality industry enterprises and define how the hospitality company of tomorrow will increase value. Additionally, the student will be asked to base strategic decisions on inductive and deductive thinking and to support and defend all decisions. The support will come in the form of substantive assumptions based upon objective criteria that represent valid and reliable data and information.
